  hi, i am also a practicing jehovah's witness and very proud of it,to say the very-very least..!

  i am a middle-aged man with many decades of being a witness of jehovah god in england.. this important letter is personally to you, just as many of the bible's 88 letters are to be taken personal by you the reader.

  i wad thinking how certain quotes and sayings have such a positive effect on our life.

  so i thought a quotes and sayings thread could be very inspirational.it would be nice if the saying or quote isn't origional to quote the author.. "not untill we are lost do we begin to understand ourselfs" henry david thoreau.. " better to never start, once started better finnish" the way of the peaceful warrior..   Watchtower "litter-ature"

  in the town where i live, it became customary some years ago for the pioneers to do the actual door-to-door work during the week, and their not-at-home records would provide the territory for the rank-and-file publishers on the weekends.

  also, car groups of publishers would get an early start by driving around to the apartment complexes in their territory and leaving older issues of the magazines in the laundry rooms, a practice some called stealth witnessing.

  many so-call publishers do nothing but stealth witnessing and wouldnt know how to actually talk to someone if they had to.

  not exactly here. but there is a rest stop along the freeway, and pioneers would drive up, counting time of course, and leave TONS of literature at the rest stop. got so bad that the authorities got involved. turns out pioneers from several congs were doing it. anything to get that time in!

  so here we are on a niceness thread talking about nice things.. yesterday a very pretty girl left her mobile behind at the computer in the libary, i returned it to her and she gave me a hug.

  every day when i come home from work, my 2 boys- my 2 doggies, that is- are there waiting and happy. makes me happy :)

  no matter what BS might be going on in life, dogs are always your friend, always loving, ready to lick your tears away.

  Looking for a new razor

  any suggestions on a new razor?

  i kind of want to try a safety double edge but im so used to the store brand razors.

  any one here own a safety doubleedge or a straight edge?.

  safety are good, you can get a used one on ebay. but different brands and different years have different closeness of shave. i highly recommend a straight razor. i used to restore old ones and sell them. PM me for more info.

  Really weird sentence

  i've been absent from meetings recently because i'm having serious life challenges that make me really not want to have to deal with all of the people and the sitting.

  i had made an attempt to, "simplify my life" that rather than being blessed was meant with unemployment.

  lol.. anyway, i finally got tired of all the phone calls checking up on me and sent a message to someone explaining that i just wanted to be left alone (an elder).

  a little experience that happened very recently:.

  another brother, an elder, and i were talking, i was explaining to him and giving him several examples of how a couple of the elders in our congregation were blatantly trying to run their own show, parading themselves around as "representatives" of the body, when the other brothers didnt know what the hell they were talking about.

  they are using their "elder powers" to bully and push people around, causing a bit of angst and hurt feelings.
